I've been the use of this form of timer for my two out of doors pond pumps (for waterfalls) for years. They flip the pump on within the morning and off within the night.
About five years in the past, one eventually failed and I quickly got a alternative on the native hardware store. Then a few days in the past, the other timer failed. Off to the shop, however I was once instructed that the corporate that made them was once out of industry.
I then went to Home Depot and Lowes, and neither had these timers, simply complex digital timers which may be a ache to software. Many were now not for outsides.
This was discouraging, then a gentle went on. I went to Amazon, and certain enough they'd them, albeit dearer than the old ones. However, these are really easy to use and so reliable, I received two so I'd have a spare.
You simply turn the wheel to the present time, insert a green pin for the time to begin and a pink one for shutting off. They include two sets of pins, but you can get extra if you want a couple of begin-and cease cycles. There is a spherical pin to flip to begin out or cease guidely.
These are somewhat better than the previous ones, but precisely the same design. I counsel them extremely for easy softwareming and reliability. They arrived just just a few days after ordering.

I even have owned four of these. I offered this to run my automobile block heater and a ceramic heater. 11 amp total. it worked for one winter. then the next it wouldn't work, so I offered some other and the same factor took place. took it aside and the white plastic peice that maintains the contacts from touching had melted and deformed making it tough to spin. this was used beneath the 15amp score. I even used a watt meter to observe the output. the 3rd one, the motor stopped moving the time wheel. best have one working now and it's working a 100w light. I went with a digital GE this year.

Package arrived quick from Amazon.com, packed neatly also. Easy to install / arrange. This unit used to be DOA - the manual on/off function labored well. After surroundings the time twice, it used to be no longered the timer dial had no longer turned around in any respect from the time at the beginning set. Holding the unit up to my ear, I may hear the motor working inside. Returning for refund.
